Fun While it Lasts

I guess it was just a weekend thing.
Cause I’m seeing you do not a damn thing.
I can’t understand you.
The time we spent,
And the time now,
Nothing makes sense.
I know you will soon forget.
And I hope,
I will too.
Even when I know I have a weak heart.
Please don’t fart.
And nobody would understand that line,
Only us.

  1. Simple and down-to-earth, the voice lets us into the speaker’s experience of a relationship that is uncertain. The allusion to “fart” introduces a welcoming tone of humor and irony. A pleasure to read!

  2. hahaha when I read “and don’t fart” I kind of felt like I opened a door and interrupted an intimate moment hahaha. I would have said, “Uh… my bad,” and slowly backed back out of the room while closing the door hahaha
