A Tragedy Written in a Short Story

The semester’s almost over.
We’re all getting older.
Seeing the world for what our eyes see.
Perceiving it for what it should be.

It’s time to live and forget,
Regret all our mistakes,
Misplace and erase.
Any living trace,
That ends up right back at you.

We’re finally moving along,
And all that’s left is just this song.
The long ride home was never so long.
A path I surely never belonged.
A lesson gone all along.

We’re finally moving apart.
I wonder how you stole my heart.
The lies been written in your eyes.
A tragedy left two thousand miles behind.
